As coronavirus cases are increasing very drastically in the third wave of COVID-19 and Schools are also closed again due to an increase in coronavirus cases. Today Interprovincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) was held by Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood. In the meeting, it was decided that exams of matric and inter will be held in two phases.
In the first phase, exams of the 10th and 12th class will be held from June 15. Later in the 2nd phase, exams of the 9th and 11th class will be held in August and September. Exams of the 10th and 12th class are being held on priority so that students can join universities on time. Before this, it was decided that matric exams will be held from 25 May and Inter Exams will be held from 3 July. But now the decision was changed due to an increase in COVID-19 cases and now exams of 10th and 12th class will be held first from 15 June.
IBCC proposed that 9th and 11th class students should be promoted without taking exams to control coronavirus. But this suggestion was not accepted by the Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood and he confirmed in a tweet that 9th and 11th class students will not be promoted this year and their exams will be held.
